Whether you need to be driven home from a party, your car has gone in for a service or broken down, or even if you need to be dropped off at the airport, Auto &General Insurance Business Assist will ensure that you are transported to your home or work safely. Apart from it being extremely convenient, it also saves you the cost of transport, long-term parking fees, and even the risk of a drinking-and-driving fine.
Safe drive
It isn’t always possible to avoid having a drink or two with a customer, and sometimes your car simply lets you down. That’s where Safe Drive comes to your rescue.
The driving team consists of a backup driver and lead driver who will drive you home in your own vehicle or, if preferred, in the vehicle dispatched. The backup driver will follow and collect the lead driver from your house.

Whether you are running between meetings, need an airport transfer, or your car has been booked in for a service and you need to be collected from the dealership, you can rely on Convenience Drive for assistance.

This service is limited to a 4-passenger vehicle including luggage suited to the vehicle’s maximum capacity.

Should an additional vehicle be required, the call centre will assist on a best-effort basis and the second vehicle will be deducted from the remaining annual trips.

Passenger vehicles larger than a 4-passenger vehicle are excluded from this service offering.

The benefit includes Safe and Convenience Drive trips to a radius of 50km per incident. Any additional kilometres travelled will be charged at the rate as charged by the service provider. Should you require additional trips in excess of your annual trip entitlement, the call centre will facilitate the booking for your own account.
Additional passenger drop-off
- Up to four additional passengers can be transported at no cost up to a distance of 50km provided the ride takes no longer than 60 minutes and all passengers are transported to the same address. This service is available to you and limited to your insured vehicle/s only.
- An additional cost of R50.00 per additional/unplanned drop-off will be charged.
- To safeguard our drivers, arrangements must be authorised by our call centre to ensure efficient planning and upfront payment.
What is Safe Drive?
Safe Drive is a shuttle service. Our Safe Drive driving team consists of a back-up driver, vehicle, and lead driver. The lead driver drives you home in your own car or in the dispatched car. The back-up driver follows and picks up the lead driver once you’ve arrived home safely.

Simply pre-book your pick-up time 24 hours in advance to guarantee your slot.
Am I able to travel with other passengers?
This service is available to you and limited to your insured vehicle/s. Up to four additional passengers can be transported at no cost provided that the entire trip is no longer than 50km, takes no longer than 1 hour, and all passengers are transported to the same booked address.
Will additional passengers cost extra money?
An additional cost of R50 per additional/unplanned drop-off will be charged. This arrangement needs to be discussed and authorised by our call centre to ensure efficient planning and requires upfront payment, which safeguards our drivers against the potential threat of carrying cash.
